Dear Esteemed Partners in Tourism,
We wish to inform you that the Narok County Government, responsible for the governance of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, has enacted a significant adjustment to the Maasai Mara Park Fee structure. Additionally, a tiered pricing system based on different travel seasons has been introduced.
Effective January 1, 2024, and applicable until June 30, 2024, non-resident Park Fees will undergo a revision, with the daily rate rising from $80 USD to $100 USD per person.
From July 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024, non-resident Park Fees will experience a further increase, with the new rate set at $200 USD per person per day.
Resident & Citizens Park Fees
Simultaneously, from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024, Resident Park Fees will be adjusted from KES 1,200/- to KES 4,500/- per individual per day.
Furthermore, the Maasai Mara Park Fee for Citizens for the same period will increase from KES 1,000/- to KES 3,000/- per person per day.
It is crucial to note that these revised fees will be applicable to all bookings commencing their travels from January 1, 2024, onward.
For pre-existing bookings, the revised fees can be handled in two ways: they can either be invoiced separately before the arrival of guests or settled upon check-in at the camp.
While we understand that these fee adjustments may impact numerous safari bookings, it is important to recognize that the additional revenue generated will serve as a crucial source of funding. This funding will be directed towards not only the conservation and protection of the renowned Maasai Mara but also the development of infrastructure in neighboring communities and the welfare of the dedicated rangers who commit their lives to safeguard the wildlife in these cherished protected areas.
We want to emphasize that these Maasai Mara Park Fee changes are being implemented by the Narok County Government and NOT by Shanjoy Tours and Safaris. Should you have any further questions or require clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.
